Meandering Monday – Ger

Today the weather on Vancouver Island was a little cool, about 8 C for a high. Rather than think that the weather wasn’t nice, I thought about a nice sunny day with the temperature about -30 C. Just like a bright prairie day? Somehow being able to walk around wearing only a sweater didn’t seem that bad after all.The green of the trees and the blue of the ocean seem very nice compared to the white of the snow. Give thanks for what we have.

Today’s picture is of a ger (also called a yert), the dwelling house of many people in Mongolia. The picture was taken just north-east of Ulan Batar in Mongolia. For those that are curious, Ulan Batar means red hero, and refers to the battle between the whites and reds in Russia.

Stay warm.
