On Vancouver Island one of our pleasures is storm watching. Yesterday we had winds that ranged up to 80 kmph, together with rain. This is the kind of day that would make one want to hunker down safely inside their home. But, there is an option! Why not venture out to a location where you can watch nature at work, enjoy fellowship and raise a pint. Vancouver Island has many pubs in locations with beautiful views.

Today’s picture is the Shady Rest, a pub and restaurant in Qualicum Beach. Relax with a pint and look out on the Salish Sea, watching nature. What better way to spend a stormy afternoon.
