Malahat Totem

On the way into Victoria from North Island, one needs to drive the Malahat. At the peak of the Malahat there is a viewpoint with stunning views of the surrounding area. At this location there is also a native totem that had been carved and erected in honour of Canada’s centennial in 1967. This is a reminder of the people that lived in the area before it was discovered by the Spaniards and other Europeans.
